Nether Edge can be found in the southern part of the city centre of Sheffield, with a total area covered of around 3,400 meters squared, and an approximate population back in 2011 of 7,592.

The area was mainly rural before the 19th century, until a local cutler bought up a fairly large area known as Brincliffe Edge.
Nether Edge is a district made up of several parts, including Banner Cross, Brinclffe, Carter Knowle, and Sharrow Vale.
There are plenty of things to do and see around Nether Edge, including the public park called Chelsea Park (great for picnics and walks), and two small theaters in the area (Merlin and Lantern). There are some great cafes and pubs in the area, including the city wide famous Broadfield.
